Equivalent Exchange...
It was the law I thought Alphonse and I could live by,
and resurrect our beloved mother,
see her smile one more time...

But wait...
Who is Alphonse?
Who is my true mother?
Why did her smiles make me feel warm and comfortable?

I woke up, blood surrounding my body.
Ouch, my head hurts.
I put my arm in front of my eyes,
which fought against my heavy eyelids.
I saw a red tattoo all over my wrist.
Is this really my arm?

I was greeted by a guy with green, stringy hair,
and an old guy with blond hair and glasses.
Why do I not remember these people?
The guy with the weird hairstyle lend me his hand,
and pulled me up until I could balance on my two feet.
Ouch, It hurts to stand up.
My vision temporarily gave up,
as my head was recovering from getting up too fast.

"Envy, take him home."
The blond man said to the guy who helped me up.
The guy named Envy took my weak arm,
put it over his shoulders,
and helped me walk home.
Where are they taking me?
"Relax, Chibi-san, you're going home." Envy assured.
"Home?" I whispered.
"Yes, you are now one of us.
"A Homonculus,
"Your new name is now...
"Pride."

Three years have passed.
I haven't grown an inch at all,
or feel myself grow older.
This feeling is strange...
What's happening to my body?

I turned to Envy,
who stood next to me on a mountain,
which overlooked the city of Amestries.
I asked the words that were haunting my mind for three years;
"What is a Homonculus?"
"It's a created human from Transmutation who cannot age," was the reply.
"You were the person who gave up your body, in order to resurrect Pride,
"A homonculus who never had a body that matched his name,
"Until now...
"Even if I cannot see how you are the best choice..."

"What was my body like before I became Pride?"
"You were a State Alchemist.
You attemped Human Transmutation- what is forbidden-
to resurrect your mother," Envy told me.
"Did I succeed?"
"Nope. Not a chance. No one who attemped a forbidden act hardly succeeds.
"You lost a leg, while your younger brother, Alphonse, lost his body."
The name Alphonse sounded so familiar...
"You gave up your right arm for your brother's soul,
"and bonded it to armor." Envy went on.

"Where is Alphonse now?" I asked, curious on how to see my "brother."
"Don't know. I heard he disappeared.
"No one in the city seemed to see him after the day we made you Pride."

"Now, what do we do now?" I looked at the purple clouds in the yellow-ish sky.
"I don't know," Envy confessed.
"Maybe it's time to go back."
"Yeah, we'll be late..." Envy and I got up and walked towards home.

I will meet you again, Alphonse.
I will see who my brother looked like,
and you'll be happy to know that I'm alive,
and not dead,
like our mother...

I will meet you soon,
Someday,
And we will find a way,
a way to make this world a better place,
and not suffer from Equivalent Exchange....
